Driving yourself to Green Acres is half the adventure. Located at Mile 36 on the Hummingbird Highway, Cayo South, it is a scenic drive just 20 minutes from Belmopan.
Driving Directions to Green Acres Jungle Horseback at Mile 36 Hummingbird Highway, Belize – Select your starting point below:
From Belmopan, turn off the George Price Highway at the Hummingbird Highway roundabout and head south on the Hummingbird Highway for approximately 20 miles. You will pass through Armenia Village, over the Caves Branch Bridge, and past the Inland Blue Hole National Park. About 10 minutes later, you will cross over the Sibun River Bridge — from here it is a straight half-mile stretch.
Just before the road curves, look for the white Mile 36 milestone post on the left. There is no signage on the highway — the milestone post is your marker.
Turn in and follow the track past the house and stables; parking is at the restroom facilities just beyond the trees.
From Belize City, head west on the George Price Highway toward Belmopan — approximately 50 miles. At Belmopan, take the roundabout exit onto the Hummingbird Highway heading south. Follow the Hummingbird Highway for approximately 20 miles, passing through Armenia Village, over the Caves Branch Bridge, and past the Inland Blue Hole National Park. Cross the Sibun River Bridge and continue straight for half a mile. Just before the road curves, look for the white Mile 36 milestone post on the left — there is no highway signage; the milestone is your marker. Turn in and follow the track past the house and stables to the parking area at the restroom facilities. Total drive time from Belize City is approximately 1.5 hours.
From San Ignacio, head east on the George Price Highway toward Belmopan for approximately 50 miles. At Belmopan, take the roundabout exit onto the Hummingbird Highway heading south. Follow the Hummingbird Highway for approximately 20 miles, passing through Armenia Village, over the Caves Branch Bridge, and past the Inland Blue Hole National Park. Cross the Sibun River Bridge and continue straight for half a mile. From Hopkins to the Hummingbird Highway
It is approx 11 miles from Hopkins to the Southern Highway exit. Turn right and proceed north for approximately 10 miles along the Southern Highway until you reach the Hummingbird Highway junction. Turn left onto the Hummingbird Highway.
From Placencia to the Hummingbird Highway
It is approx 23 miles from Placencia to the Southern Highway roundabout exit. Turn right and proceed north for approximately 30 miles along the Southern Highway until you reach the Hummingbird Highway junction. Turn left onto the Hummingbird Highway.
From the Hummingbird Highway to Green Acres Ranch
On the Hummingbird Highway, your first great stop is Xaibel Service Station Ltd — fuel up, grab a snack, use the facilities, and send us a WhatsApp to let us know you’re on your way. Signal is strong here. You will arrive at a roundabout with the Coastal Highway – continue along the Hummingbird Highway. Local favorites along the way worth noting: Bertha’s Tamales, Trees Café, and Country Barn Ice Cream. You’re almost there. Cross the Silver Creek Bridge, then watch for Yamwits Restaurant — a green building just before a large curve in the road. Complete the curve and Green Acres Ranch is immediately on your right. Look for the white Mile 36 milestone post — there is no highway signage; the milestone and the driveway are your markers. Turn in and follow the track past the house and stables to the parking area at the restroom facilities.
