Rooted in the Land. Grown by Hand
When you visit Green Acres Ranch, you’re not just a guest. You’re a welcome part of the story.
Nestled in the heart of Belize, Green Acres Ranch is more than a destination — it’s a living legacy. Spanning 200 acres of lush jungle and working pastureland, the ranch is the pride and joy of owners Al and Candy Chanona, who have devoted their lives to nurturing every corner of this remarkable property.
Al and Candy are the ranch’s chief curators — hands in the soil, eyes on the horizon. Al planted hundreds of mahogany trees by hand, one by one, across the land. He has tended citrus and coconut fields, raised cattle, and built a life here that is deeply woven into the rhythms of the Belizean countryside. Candy has been his partner in every sense, helping shape the ranch into both a productive working property and a welcoming place for guests.
Their labor of love is visible everywhere you look — in every trail cut through the bush, every pasture fenced and tended, every tree that now stands tall because someone believed it was worth planting.
Today, the Chanona family is multi-generational, with the next generation carrying forward the same commitment to the land. Together, Kimberlee and Alexandria, along with Kristian and Anagael, and Patricia, Jason and Andrew steward a diverse ecosystem where a working ranch and wild jungle exist in balance — cattle graze where toucans fly, and the pace of life slows to something that feels real.
